Dental emergencies don’t always happen at convenient times—but when they do, we’re here for you. Tennessee Valley Oral Surgery offers same-day emergency visits for patients experiencing urgent oral health issues.
If you’re in pain or dealing with swelling, don’t wait. Contact us right away so we can help you get relief.
Do You Qualify for a Same-Day Emergency Visit?
Not every dental issue requires same-day care. To be seen for a same-day emergency appointment, you must:
-
Be experiencing pain or swelling
-
Understand that same-day visits are based on availability
-
Call our office directly so we can assess your situation and get you scheduled quickly if you qualify
If you’re unsure whether your issue qualifies, just give us a call. Our team will help you determine the best next steps. If your case requires emergency attention, we will work with you every way we can to get you seen as quickly as possible.

How to Prepare for Your Emergency Oral Surgery Visit
To make sure we can treat you safely and efficiently, please follow these important guidelines before your visit:
- No food or drink for at least 6 hours prior to your appointment. This is critical in case you need to undergo sedation or anesthesia.
- Bring a driver who can stay the entire time. Your driver must remain on the premises during your appointment and be available to take you home afterward.
- Be prepared to pay your patient portion. We’ll go over costs with you beforehand and explain payment options. We accept insurance, offer monthly payment plans, and accept CareCredit. To learn more about what insurance plans we accept and the payment options that are available, click below.

What to Bring With You to Your Appointment
In order to get the most out of your appointment, please bring the following:
- Dental Insurance Card
- Medical Insurance Card
- Driver's License
- Referral Slip from your dentist (if applicable)
- Completed paperwork (if not filled out online)
- List of medications
- An escort/driver who can stay on the premises the entire length of your appointment
- An empty stomach (no food or drink for at least 6 hours prior to your appointment)
